Overview

ISG and Essity, formerly SCA Tissue, have developed a deep understanding and working relationship, having collaborated on 170+ projects from small-scale projects to greenfield developments.

Opportunity

Essity needed a design leader with significant paper machine track foundation system experience for a new facility.

Solution

ISG has a long-standing partnership with Essity, having led design for facility plants across the country and for Essity campuses in multiple states, totaling more than 172 projects over the years. ISG brings its direct expertise with paper machine track foundation systems as a partner, applying this knowledge to the design of Essity’s 552,500-square-foot facility in Barton, Alabama. The project team designed the facility’s warehouse, high-stack parent roll storage, and adjacent building on-site.

Throughout its partnership with Essity, ISG has provided structural design services for many projects, a mill-wide electrical system study, a wide range of warehouse enhancement projects, several processed mechanical projects, and a new greenfield paper mill.
