Pearl Walkway + Pearl Street Enhancements

The City of La Crosse partnered with ISG to increase accessibility, connect downtown to the Mississippi River, and improve the pedestrian experience through the Pearl Street Corridor. ISG developed a comprehensive vision, plan, and design solution that accommodates significant grade changes, limited space between buildings, operational access requirements, and budget considerations. The corridor features new pavement, landscaping, seating, decorative lighting, wayfinding, public art, branding elements, and arches to promote walkability and establish a unique identity. By balancing functionality, aesthetics, and long-term maintainability, the Pearl Street Corridor has become a vibrant community space.
