As part of an initiative to create an active, welcoming community and expand the City’s park system, the City of Humboldt partnered with ISG to design a 270-foot-long pedestrian bridge and extend a paved multi-use trail. This project was designed to extend the Eagle Ridge trail system, provide a scenic crossing over the West Fork of the Des Moines River, and strengthen the connection between local neighborhoods and the school district area. Visitors can explore, stay active, and safely connect with nature.
The trail extension received $954,181 in federal Iowa Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) grant funds, and was sponsored, in part, by Humboldt County Conservation.
