The Quarters at Iowa City

Iowa City, IA | Housing

Overview

ISG worked with developers to design The Quarters at Iowa City, an off-campus student housing community developed from a renovated residential complex.

Opportunity

The Tailwind Group wanted to redevelop a residential complex in disrepair to accommodate the needs of a growing university community.

Solution

Pioneered by developer Tailwind Group, design and amenities found across The Quarters complexes enhance the student housing experience by providing a modern, community-centric focus on off-campus living, including the 900-bedroom student housing complex in Iowa City, Iowa. This multi-family housing complex reused an existing residential building complex that was in disrepair. Structural designs replaced rotted wood trusses, siding, and roofing, as well as significant concrete restoration on the building exteriors. The new buildings include apartments, a clubhouse, and gable overbuild trusses for aesthetics.
