Red Wing Public Schools - Assessment

Red Wing, MN | Education

Overview

Red Wing Public School sought a partner to develop an extensive, District-wide deferred maintenance program to maximize cost saving opportunities and plan future investments.

Opportunity

The Red Wing Public School District wanted to measure academic standards, collect data on student achievement, ensure new students adapt efficiently, and ensure the District is adhering to state and federal regulations and requirements.

Solution

The facility assessment included a review of circulation patterns for student pick-up and drop off, roofing conditions and repair preferences, operating costs, indoor air quality issues, and HVAC maintenance and control requirements. These and other important District improvements were led by ISG’s multi-disciplinary project team. As a result of the assessment, an extensive and prioritized list of projects is being addressed in multiple school facilities. Projects include redesign of main entrances to provide more control over visitor access, HVAC commissioning, replacement of chillers, boilers, lighting, ADA improvements, vinyl tile removal, indoor air quality improvements, and multiple other interior finish replacements. A phased project schedule is being implemented to limit down time and disruption during the school year.
