To upgrade and modernize the facility that serves the Minnesota Army National Guard.

Solution

The renovation of the Fairmont Minnesota Army National Guard Armory - unites of the 1st Battalion, 125th Field Artillery - modernized the facility, which now serves as Emergency Operations and Readiness Centers for the Fairmont area. The scope of the project includes renovations for upgrading HVAC systems, reconfiguring space utilization to meet new design criteria, and upgrading the building to meet accessibility and ADA requirements. Throughout this renovation, the team met the National Guard's Design Guide for Readiness Centers and General Facilities Information Design Guide standards.

January 17, 2020 – The largest wetland project undertaken by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship sits east of Storm Lake waiting for spring to come so it can perform its duty. It was built last summer not only to prevent flooding, but to remove nitrate from primarily tile-drained land in five Buena Vista County drainage districts.
