Lakeside Lift Station

Lakeside, IA | Water

Overview

ISG provided technical expertise to design and construct a safe and reliable lift station for the City of Lakeside.

Opportunity

The rural community of Lakeside needed a new lift station to serve the community.

Solution

To provide sanitary sewer service for over 600 residents, the City of Lakeside enlisted the services of ISG to design and construct a lift station to serve the community. Well-versed in lift station design, ISG wastewater experts designed a station that included an electric pump and trash basket hoist, emergency backup generator, and wet well submersible pumps with variable frequency drives to save energy and extend the life of the pumps. Above grade valves were installed for easy maintenance access, and a magnetic flow meter was included to allow City staff to monitor precise measurements for flow data. Features of the new lift station focus on safety, flexibility, reliability, and ease of operation for City staff.

Understanding that major infrastructure projects can place a burden on small communities, ISG aided the City in securing funding by identifying a loan through the State Revolving Fund and helping to complete the application in order to realize the project.
