Confidential Protein Processing Client
Various Locations | Food + Industrial
Overview
ISG has worked with a confidential protein processing client on a number of food production and distribution facilities—many of which have unique equipment integration design needs.
Opportunity
With highly specialized equipment and processes, this confidential client has a wide variety of complex design needs to expand its food production and services for its locations across the Midwest and the rest of the country.
Solution
General Arrangement Design
Design for all equipment in a major pork producing facility, including kill and cut floors. Included coordinating drawings from all processing vendors and developing a complete facility plan with coordinated equipment layouts.
Water/Wastewater Design
DAF design for major pork producer which included EQ tank design, pre-treatment and lagoon renovations including sludge removal, liner repairs, piping/control, structure upgrades, aeration, and repermitting.
CRAX Loadout Addition
Strategic phasing insuring hog delivery and truck traffic were not disrupted during construction. Worked to collaborate with major producer to ensure critical analysis of material options while also designing heating and ventilation system with maximized efficiency in mind. Also confirmed footing plans for a new 55 foot CO2 tank ensuring material, structural, and employee safety.
USDA Courtyard + Locker Room Addition
Addressed drainage issues for a major processing facility conveying existing outlets through proposed space while providing cohesive designs connecting varying roof elevations of abutting structures to the new facility. Also designed around existing fire suppression and life safety infrastructure to remain in full operation during construction.
Cafeteria Building Addition
Designed drainage systems to accommodate required improvements including storm sewer outlets and roof rainwater conveyance. Designs minimized roof snow loads with adjacent existing structures. Also included coordination of new employee main entrance, kitchen equipment with vendors, and overall access during construction.
