With the rapidly changing landscape in health care, Minnesota Valley Health Center in Le Sueur is determined to continue to provide outstanding local health care with regional access to specialty care. In cooperation with their care partners, a long term master plan was developed including expansion of the clinic and improvements to the entrance, lobby, and reception areas. An emergency services addition was also incorporated into the project.
The existing emergency facilities lacked privacy, had poor circulation for staff and families, and had ambulance facilities located too far away from the emergency services area. The revised plan was designed to integrate with future clinic and main entrance improvements, including a new ambulance bay, waiting and reception areas, and improved circulation.
The improvements also allowed for a consolidation of administrative offices in a previously unfinished lower level. Site improvements included the addition of convenient and accessible parking, stormwater infiltration areas, and coordination with the existing helipad.
The new expansion includes significant additional space, improvements to patient privacy and convenience, and updated technology. The new space houses twenty-three exam rooms, along with associated procedure, lab, and administrative spaces. The spacious lobby provides an inviting place for patients and visitors as they arrive through the new entrance, which is protected from the elements by a large canopy.
A new visitor parking area and patient drop off area is now conveniently located, as well as additional staff parking, located near employee entrances. These features add to the convenience for all who visit.
