The developing downtown district of Mankato required more high-end and convenient lodging options for visitors.

Solution

ISG designed the Hilton Garden Inn as part of ongoing development in downtown Mankato. The precast exterior combines stone, metal, and brick and is accented with red masonry columns, large windows, and decorative lighting. To keep energy costs and environmental footprint at a minimum, insulation finish system on the upper floors is one of the most energy efficient wall cladding used in construction. Connecting the hotel’s guests to the community, the inclusion of two skyways provides an indoor pathway to the Verizon Center, Intergovernmental Center, and Central Downtown parking ramp. The 118-room hotel also boasts various amenities for guests, including flexible meeting spaces with state-of-the-art audio/visual equipment, a business center, and fitness center, and features the Mediterranean inspired Olive’s by Massad’s as an elegant on-site restaurant.

The hotel also includes a custom indoor pool and spa, located on the main, street level of the property, which was designed to meet the Hilton Garden Inn – Urban Design protocol building standards and requirements. ISG designed expansive windows that surround the pool area to bring natural light throughout the space and provide views to the historic structures and landscaping along Riverfront Drive and Hickory Street. ISG was involved in all aspects of the layout and design, as well as coordination with the pool contractor to ensure our client met all of the Hilton Garden Inn requirements.
