ISG planned, programmed, and designed a state-of-the-art, fully automated retrieval warehouse and egg processing facility on a greenfield site.

The fourth-generation, family-owned business, Forsman Farms, is one of the most heavily automated egg processing facilities in the U.S. To meet current demands and projected future growth, Forsman Farm needed a new facility complete with wastewater pretreatment systems, and automated storage and retrieval system for complete automated warehousing of the eggs.

ISG partnered with Forsman Farms to deliver master planning, design, and construction administration services for a new greenfield egg processing facility in Howard Lake, Minnesota. Built to USDA hygiene and sanitation standards, the facility’s egg processing areas, packaging, shipping and receiving, and egg breaking areas were designed to streamline operations and accommodate future expansions due to projected growth of over 2 million laying chickens.

Following the success of this new processing facility, Forsman Farms selected ISG to provide Department of Natural Resources and Minnesota Pollution Control Agency permitting assistance for multiple growing operation expansions.
