Winnebago, MN | Energy

Overview

ISG worked with the Winnebago Mental Health Institute to install more efficient and reliable boiler systems.

Opportunity

For more efficient operations, the Winnebago Mental Health Institute opted to replace its coal boilers with gas/oil systems.

Solution

The Winnebago Mental Health Institute project included the demolition of three coal boilers and installation of two new 43,000 lb/hr gas/oil package boilers and one new 10,000 lb/hr gas oil package boiler operating at 120 psi, all with fintube economizers. Also included was the replacement of the existing RO System, condensate tank and pumps, feedwater pumps, blow tank, air compressors, fuel oil tank, and fuel oil pumps. The new DCS system was installed with individual controls for each boiler, plant wide balance, and all controls were installed with redundant input/output (I/O) and uninterruptible power supply (UPS).
