The MidAmerican Energy Company RecPlex Expansion

The City of West Des Moines is experiencing an increase in demand for ice time and space for recreational activities. To address community needs, the City partnered with ISG to provide recreation center design and explore possibilities for an expansion to the RecPlex facility. Currently under design, the expansion will add a third sheet of ice, spectator seating, club-level viewing areas, meeting and locker rooms, training areas, a grab-and-go market, and exterior site improvements. The new sheet of ice will be home to the Des Moines Buccaneers and build on ISG’s experience in ice arena design, while building on the RecPlex’s immense success and ensuring it continues to address evolving and increasing recreational needs across the region.
