Overview

ISG provided designs for a reconstruction that saved the City more than $1 million, added an additional 20 years of life to the facility, and increased attendance at the Clarion Aquatic Center.


Opportunity

The City of Clarion wanted to upgrade its 1930s era swimming pool to attract more visitors and reduce costs down the line.

Solution

This unique reconstruction of the City of Clarion’s 1938 swimming pool saved over $1 million and satisfied the City’s needs. The pool’s shallow end was demolished and replaced with a zero depth entry and plunge area for two water slides. ISG’s design provided a peninsula to separate the shallow area from the rest of the pool, where the 12 foot depth deep-end diving boards were moved and two fast-drop slides were added. The existing 1938 bathhouse was replaced and now includes handicap accessibility and many modern amenities. The revisions added an additional 20 years to the life of the dated facility and attendance has soared as community members enjoy their new aquatic center.

Toe Wildlife Management Area Receives 62-Acres of Wetland Restoration

December 22, 2020 (Mankato, Minnesota) – After nearly four years of planning, design, and construction, ISG is proud to report the successful completion of a 62-acre wetland restoration project within the Toe Wildlife Management Area (WMA). Situated in rural Jackson County, an area of southern Minnesota where less than 1% of original wetlands remain, the project is part of a larger initiative of the Heron Lake Watershed District to protect and restore nearly 350-acres of wetlands in the Toe WMA.

Mankato MoonDogs’ Franklin Rogers Park to be Renamed ISG Field

October 20, 2020 (Mankato, Minnesota) – Building on a series of successful partnerships and projects to bolster its ballpark, the Mankato MoonDogs, a member of the Northwoods League, has exercised its rights with the landlord, the City of Mankato, to lease the naming rights of Franklin Rogers Park to ISG. The ballpark will be named ISG Field after the professional design and engineering firm that was founded in Mankato in 1973. ISG Field represents the MoonDogs’ commitment to providing top quality local baseball and an enriching fan experience. This is the latest update for the team, which has unveiled a new logo and has implemented several renovations for the ballpark in recent years.
