Opportunity

To accommodate the needs of a dynamic college campus, Carleton College needed to make significant upgrades to its streets, trails, and walkways.

Solution

ISG has worked with Carleton College on a number of projects focused on smooth campus traffic. ISG is currently providing design services to make pedestrian improvements for the College’s Weitz Corridor. The project team is working with key stakeholders to make intersection and crosswalk improvements, as well as determine whether to widen the sidewalk on one side of the road or to incorporate a bike lane on that side. Moreover, ISG designed the maintenance of key campus streets included selective patching of various pavement areas and a full sealcoating project. The project team planned phased implementation to ensure minimal disruption. ISG also designed the reconstruction and widening of two service roads to ensure ease of use for all types of College maintenance equipment.
