Greater Minnesota Gas Pipeline

Coates to Cannon Falls, MN | Energy

Overview

ISG provided planning, design, and permitting services for the construction of a 13-mile natural gas pipeline connecting two communities.

Opportunity

Greater Minnesota Gas wanted to connect two cities with a gas pipeline, requiring strategic planning and design.

Solution

A 13-mile natural gas pipeline was constructed to connect the Cities of Coates and Cannon Falls, Minnesota, for Greater Minnesota Gas (GMG). ISG services included parcel boundary, gas line, and as-built surveys to generate maps and data of existing conditions for GMG. The resulting deliverables were then provided to the National Pipeline Mapping System (NPMS) on behalf of GMG. Construction staking, pipeline alignment, profile design, and Geographical Information System (GIS) integration was also provided, as was assistance in negotiating with landowners, drafting legal descriptions for easements, and securing property rights. ISG served as a dedicated, responsive partner that ensured construction continued smoothly.
