ISG, a professional design and engineering firm that is 100% owned by employees, recently expanded its Water Solutions Group by welcoming long-time Iowa Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) leader Julie Sievers. Ready to embark on this new endeavor with ISG as Senior Water Specialist, Julie will complement a seasoned group of professionals, including Associate Principal, Tom Grafft, and many others within the firm of 315+ professionals.
At the office and project sites, you may know ISG’s Mitch Workmon as a quiet, calm, and driven landscape architect. At home, he tends to be a bit goofier while living off coffee to take care of his newborn. The largest wetland project undertaken by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship sits east of Storm Lake waiting for spring to come so it can perform its duty. It was built last summer not only to prevent flooding, but to remove nitrate from primarily tile-drained land in five Buena Vista County drainage districts.
Building on 2020 goals and market strategy, ISG, a nationally recognized architecture, engineering, environmental, and planning firm, recently formalized a proactive plan with respect to its CEO and firm leadership positions. The firm’s Board of Directors formally approved and appointed Lynn Bruns as CEO, David Doxtad as President, Derek Johnson as Executive Vice President, and Chad Surprenant as Chief Strategy Officer (formerly CEO|President).
Known as a hard-working, trusting, and humble employee owner, Dave Anderson has retired from ISG after 35 years with the firm. Dave started his career in Mankato in 1980 for a small firm called Associated Engineers, which soon partnered with ISG. In his time at ISG, Dave provided his extensive expertise in roadway and infrastructure projects for a wide range of partners across the Midwest. To celebrate his career at ISG, we’ve put together some of his parting thoughts and insights from David Doxtad, Tom Grafft, and Brooke Sievers, all of whom Dave worked closely with out of ISG’s Storm Lake office.
