Meet Senior Support Specialist Stacy Spencer

When you walk through the doors of the ISG Mankato office, you are greeted by Stacy Spencer’s smiling face. As Senior Support Specialist, she is what many would call the jack-of-all-trades. From general administrative duties to keeping the candy bowl full, Stacy ensures the office operations run smoothly and all business units’ needs are met. Her sister and ISG Designer, Jaclyn Thissen, introduced the position to Stacy. “We have pretty much always worked together…Jaclyn told me there was an opening at ISG, so I applied and got it!”

Stacy also loves to travel. Throughout her adventures, she has had close encounters with three black bears, several big horn sheep, a badger, and a very nasty gray jay. She was proposed to in Belize and married on Treasure Island beach in California. Stacy went down Colorado’s Royal Gorge Ziplines—one of the top five ziplines in the U.S. There are 11 lines and at the end, you jump off a platform that is equivalent to seven stories, freefalling for the first 40 feet!

What is your favorite part of working at ISG?

The people! ISG has so many different types of people and everyone works so well together. I enjoy talking with everyone about what they’ve been up to and chatting about different projects they’re working on.

How do you spend your free time?

I spend most of my free time in my backyard. We have a large yard for living in town. I have a huge deck with a fire table and a comfy couch, a fire pit in the yard and a pool, and lots of sparkly lights. It’s everything I want in a backyard. If that’s not enough, I also have a large vegetable garden to care for. In the winter you’ll find me cuddled up with a good book, a glass of wine, and some tasty cheese!

What is your favorite vacation spot and why?

I love Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP)! Growing up, we used to go camping there every year with my parents. Now we go every other year. I had ascended a mountain a couple months before I was even born! We wake up around two or three in the morning for our long hike day and get to the mountain top before anyone else.

The year we climbed Longs Peak, our first and only fourteener—referencing the 14,000-foot elevation—it took us 14.5 hours to climb to the top and back down! The following year we climbed three mountains in a row–Flattop, Hallett, and Otis. By the time we made it to Otis, there was a storm coming in and we had to slide down Andrew’s Glacier to get below tree line – all while pregnant with my son. There is never a dull moment in RMNP!

Other fun facts about Stacy are that she can play the flute and piccolo, has seven tattoos, and was hired to dress up as a mailbox to wave people into Mail Boxes Etc.
