Overview

ISG designed a new folding carton plant for Green Bay Packaging with emphasis on airflow, truck access, and quick and flexible construction.

Opportunity

Green Bay Packaging’s new plant required multi-disciplinary design to create a high-functioning production spaces and accessible distribution areas.

Solution

Green Bay Packaging called on ISG to design its new folding carton plant in De Pere, Wisconsin. Known for the distribution of corrugated boxes, Green Bay Packaging’s new plant carries out corrugated conversion operations. The 201,800-square-foot facility was designed for a 14-acre site in the De Pere Business Park. Mechanical engineers monitored air flow throughout the production spaces to ensure they would be properly conditioned and humidified. The project team planned truck access including 12 loading docks to maximize delivery productivity, as well as parking lots for employees and visitors. The facility was built with precast concrete to ensure fast and easy construction, and it was built with two presses and the capability to expand to four. Following the completion of this project, ISG has worked with Green Bay Packaging for other projects, including structural designs for the addition of a new press.
