ISG is setting the pace in the industry. Explore the latest to learn about the finer details that make our projects and services unique, or how our teams are guiding industry-wide innovation. We don’t slow down. Here are a few things we are up to.

In recognition of achievements and expertise in the design and construction of asphalt pavement, ISG Project Manager, Nick Frederiksen, was recently honored as the Consulting Engineer of the Year from the Asphalt Paving Association of Iowa (APAI) during their awards ceremony this week. Nick, having recently celebrated his 20th anniversary with ISG, a nationally recognized and locally rooted multi-disciplinary architecture, engineering, environmental, and planning firm, was nominated for services specific to the City of West Des Moines HMA Resurfacing Program, building upon positive relationships that had developed leading up to the project.

When Stephanie Merdan started as a receptionist at ISG almost 15 years ago, she had no idea what opportunities the company would create for her. Read more about Stephanie, and find out what’s kept her at ISG for 15 years!

ISG Senior Designer, Tom Katers, loves solving the design challenges of the job and building relationships with clients and municipal reviewers. With strong roots in Brown County, Tom loves bettering his community-whether on the job at ISG, volunteering to review 140 page documents as a City of Bellevue Trustee, or kicking a soccer ball around with the team he coaches. If that sounds busy, he also has three active teenage boys and two dogs. But don’t worry- he’s able to recharge in the outdoors by camping, golfing, hunting, or just working in the yard. Inspiration, community service, employee ownership – let’s connect with Tom!

ISG Employee Owner and Director of Production Operations, Randy Potter, is a frequent and friendly communicator, coordinator, and problem-solver at work. That is not the case at volleyball however, where his spikes rain on opponents. When he’s not in the office or on the court, the Certified Revit Professional and ESOP Committee Chair can be found wearing multiple hats. Randy proudly sports the “dad” badge with his two kids (number three on the way!), fishing, or cheering on a Minnesota sports team. Let’s check out what “sets” him apart from the status quo.
