September 22, 2016 (Des Moines, Iowa) - ISG was recently recognized by the Des Moines Register as a 2016 Top Workplace as part of their annual employer recognition program for Iowa’s business, nonprofit, and government organizations.

Together with research partner, Workplace Dynamics, the Des Moines Register ranked businesses with 35 or more employees based on survey results. A survey response rate of at least 35 percent for employees based in Iowa was required and approximately 150 employers, ranked by sized, received positive scores that allowed them to be on the Top Workplace list. ISG’s spot was secured with a response rate that far exceeded the required percentage and received anonymous employee comments such as:

  • “I am presented with opportunities to define my career path, challenges to tackle, and opportunities to lead.”
  • “I'm appreciated.”
  • “It's not just the upper management or the owners who want to build the company; it's everyone involved. Everyone shares the same feeling of wanting to do the right things to make the company succeed. ”

With a local state presence in Algona, Des Moines, and Storm Lake, ISG has strategically opened offices in areas such as the Des Moines metro to increase accessibility for clients while positively complementing the additional 200 professionals in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

“My father was an Iowa State graduate, and I followed in his footsteps graduating from Iowa State with a Civil Engineering degree,” stated Chad Surprenant, ISG President and CEO. “Since the 1970s, I have visited often and always found Iowa to have a comfortable, honest, hard-working environment. When ISG acquired a firm in northern Iowa, a huge part of the thought process was to get to Des Moines, and within a few years we were able to accomplish exactly that. Des Moines has lived up to our high expectations and is backed by a professional work force who want to make a difference in a great, invigorating community,” stated Chad.
