Receives Top 50 Designation Due to Focused Talent and Client Engagement Efforts

With three Minnesota offices, including one located in a booming hub by the Mall of America’s urban scene, ISG, a multi-disciplinary architecture, engineering, environmental, and planning firm, landed its first spot on the Star Tribune’s 2017 Top Workplace list. Ranking #33 in the mid-size company category, the firm, which started in Mankato, Minnesota over 43 years ago and is now 100% owned by employees, has grown to eight offices in three states with clients nationwide.

Nearly 160 of ISG’s 250+ employee-owners are located in the land of 10,000 lakes, with the metro office recently celebrating its third anniversary. Over 95% of ISG’s Minnesota professionals provided feedback on the Top Workplace survey that focused on inspiration, motivation, and ownership, along with other important areas such as benefits, management, and communication.

“These awards are much more than achievement stamps, they embody our firm’s goal to be strategic and intentional in everything we do,” affirms Sam Boeck, ISG Director of Talent Engagement. “ISG employee-owners and clients guide every decision, and this opportunity will only further our quest for industry leading ingenuity, and just being a down right cool place to own,” notes Sam.

Over 15,000 companies were eligible to apply for the award. Of those that chose to participate, over 70,000 direct employees provided feedback on pivotal areas that are helping advance the Midwest’s economy. ISG was in impressive company with industry-leading clients, such as ALDI, who joined the firm at the recent celebratory unveiling hosted by the Star Tribune and Hyatt Regency of Minneapolis.

“In a time where most Minnesota businesses face challenges staying fully staffed, having the quality of your work place recognized by peers and employees is not only testament to the business, but also an edge for recruitment and engagement,” notes Bill Blazar, Senior Vice President of Public Affairs and Business Development for the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce. “Our congratulations to ISG on being both a great place to work and growing Minnesota business,” notes Bill.

ISG was also recently ranked among the Top 10 on the Zweig Group’s Hot Firm list and Top 20 of Best Firms to Work For, in addition to moving up over 100 spots on Engineering News-Record’s (ENR) Top 500 Design Firm list.
