With experience ranging over the entire manufacturing process, from quality assurance and manufacturing, all the way to final product packaging, distribution, and customer services, Tom understands the many factors that need to be accounted for in the decision making process. Tom has extensive knowledge on LEAN manufacturing and how to overcome existing facility challenges and limitations in the manufacturing process. He also has the ability to develop options that account for the entire process and consider cost implications to help determine the best solutions.
Tom’s client service expertise and reputation for responsible, collaborative project management enables him to offer partners guidance that considers the entire manufacturing process, from raw material procurement and quality control to final product packaging and distribution. Tom actively collaborates with clients, meeting with stakeholders and representatives from all areas of operation to ensure early design plans synchronize the various departments within facilities and maximize productivity. His incredibly diverse and holistic industry knowledge, practical approach to problem solving, and ability to understand what is at the core of each client’s needs has positioned Tom as one of the firm’s most valuable assets.
- 30+ years in manufacturing and processing
- Experience with company acquisitions and integrations
- 20+ years of experience in egg products, egg byproducts, poultry production, and ingredient development
- 10+ years of experience in milk processing, cheese processing, and whey proteins
- Operations management and process development on spray dryers, pasteurizers, rigid and flexible consumer packaging, refrigerated products, ingredients, and pharmaceuticals
- LEAN manufacturing background
- Experience with FDA, USDA, State Ag Agencies, EPA, OSHA, DNR, and many other auditing agencies and organizations
