ISG Recognized as Top Design Firm – Surpasses 2015 Ranking through Strategic Market Growth

ISG was recently recognized as one of the country’s leading design firms by Engineering News-Record (ENR) magazine’s annual industry rankings. The Top 500 Design Firms list ranks the largest United States based design firms, both publicly and privately held, based on design-specific revenue. ISG, a firm founded in Mankato, Minnesota and has grown to seven offices in three states with clients nationwide, is ranked at 452 in the 2016 list, surpassing last year’s rank of 488.

As ISG’s La Crosse office expands to occupy the 10th floor of their current location in the heart of the City, recent architecture and transportation staff additions now offer local expertise to the firm’s growing Wisconsin office. ISG transportation engineer and community development expert, Will Kratt, PE, recently received the Volunteer of the Year Award at the 25th Wisconsin Main Street Awards held in Marshfield, Wisconsin by the Wisconsin Economic Development Council and Wisconsin Main Street. The event recognized efforts by Main Street volunteers and staff for the historic preservation and downtown economic development efforts of communities throughout Wisconsin.

ISG Announces Dan Stueber to Serve as MSPS President-Elect

ISG professional surveyor and civil engineer Dan Stueber was recently sworn in as President-Elect of the Minnesota Society of Professional Surveyors (MSPS) at their past Annual Meeting. Dan served on the MSPS Board of Directors before being sworn in as President-Elect and works with members to develop and promote the land surveying industry. In his role at MSPS, Dan recently helped update the Common Interest Community (CIC) Plat Manual, a statewide guidebook for surveyors.

ISG Provides Innovative Groundwater Solutions for Rare Wetlands

Minnesota’s fourth Calcareous Fen Management Plan (CFMP), developed by ISG for a mining client, was recently approved by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in cooperation with several state and local agencies. It was the first of its kind aimed at maintaining hydrogeological (groundwater) levels. Calcareous fens are rare and distinctive wetlands that receive continuous groundwater discharge that is calcium enriched through contact with bedrock or glacial deposits
