April 12, 2016 – ISG transportation engineer and community development expert, Will Kratt, PE, recently received the Volunteer of the Year Award at the 25th Wisconsin Main Street Awards held in Marshfield, Wisconsin by the Wisconsin Economic Development Council and Wisconsin Main Street. The event recognized efforts by Main Street volunteers and staff for the historic preservation and downtown economic development efforts of communities throughout Wisconsin.

Will, who is based out of ISG’s La Crosse, Wisconsin office, was recognized for his work with Downtown Main Street, Inc. (DMI), a non-profit business group focused on the continued revitalization of historic downtown La Crosse. “Will has taken the lead with bold new initiatives and a forward thinking approach that are making a difference in our downtown district,” shared Robin Moses, Executive Director of Downtown Mainstreet, Inc.

Expanding upon Will’s contributions to DMI, Robin notes “Will started as a volunteer on our Design and Beautification committee. He then designed and led our downtown Parklet Program, chaired the Great City Growing Greater campaign, and started a new group of young downtown leaders. Currently, he’s the chair of our Economic Restructuring committee, and will soon be leading a new downtown parking workgroup.”

On his volunteer efforts Will states, “What I enjoy most is being part of an organization that can truly affect positive change within downtown La Crosse. DMI makes a great impact in our community and it is rewarding to be a part of the effort. I look forward to accomplishing even more in the future.”
