Overview

Rochester Public Schools enlisted ISG’s architectural and engineering expertise to update indoor air quality and kitchen facilities at Bamber Valley Elementary School.

Opportunity

Bamber Valley Elementary School serves approximately 850 students enrolled in kindergarten through fifth grade and has a special Deaf and Hard of Hearing program. To better accommodate all students, the facility needed HVAC, accessibility, and code compliance upgrades.

Solution

With a wide range of student ages and abilities, ISG focused on accessibility for Bamber Valley Elementary School. Given the unique needs of the school’s student population, which includes a Deaf and Hard of Hearing program, these upgrades extend far beyond just ADA and other common code compliance measures. The designs for the facility address indoor air quality in the school, as well as providing upgrades for the cafeteria’s kitchen area. ISG worked closely with the City throughout the project to ensure permitting, submittal, and approval went smoothly.
