Matt Cosgrove River's Edge Discovery Center

The Matt Cosgrove River’s Edge Discovery Center transformed an underused and eroded stretch of the Des Moines River into a vibrant destination for environmental learning, recreation, and stewardship. Webster County partnered with ISG to design the 14,000-square-foot nature-based learning facility and approximately 12.5 acres of riverfront restoration and public access improvements. The Discovery Center supports programming needs through nature play areas, river walks, and flexible learning spaces, as well as sustainability efforts with native plantings, energy-saving components, and adaptable exhibitions.
