Matt Cosgrove's River's Edge Discovery Center

Matt Cosgrove's River's Edge Discovery Center wanted to build a new nature center to better utilize Des Moines River’s recreational and educational opportunities in the area. ISG designed a new building to support programming needs, and outdoor amenities such as a nature play area, river walk, water access points, and shoreline restoration. The design approach met stakeholder goals by considering sustainability, efficiency, and functionality with the inclusion of native plantings, energy-saving mechanical and electrical components, and adaptable exhibition and learning spaces.
