Olmsted Medical Center

Cannon Falls, MN | Healthcare

Overview

ISG collaborated with the practicing physician at Olmsted Medical Center to develop a calm, comfortable healthcare environment for patients and visitors.

Opportunity

For the privately owned Olmsted Medical Center's new facility, comfort was the top priority, as the space needed to have a soothing presence for patients, visitors, and staff.

Solution

This privately owned clinic was designed with substantial input from the practicing physician who wanted a unique design that showcased the wooded lots surrounding the facility, as well as providing a soothing environment for patients, staff, and visitors. A two-story vaulted lobby provides picturesque views for patients and staff while also filling the space with natural light. At nearly 5,700 sq. ft., the interior features nine exam rooms, two procedure rooms, a nurses station, X-ray room, lab, and associated support areas. The color palette features neutral, calming earth tones in muted blue, gray, and brown. The facility was designed to allow for future expansion. The exterior façade gives a nod to the Craftsmen style with a cultured stone base, two-toned exterior insulation finishing system (EIFS), and large windows with overhangs. This clinic is nestled in a rural setting, providing patients with a unique and modern healthcare facility.
