Madelia Community Hospital

Madelia, MN | Healthcare

Overview

ISG helped Madelia Community Hospital increase its capacity to provide healthcare for patients with a larger, more efficient facility.

Opportunity

In an effort to support the medical needs of the community, Madelia Community Hospital required more space and enhanced mechanical and electrical systems.

Solution

ISG designed an expansion to Madelia Community Hospital that provided space for an additional 11 beds in the hospital, as well as the renovation of existing patient rooms. Access to a new patio and healing garden at the south end of the addition gives staff a relaxing place to take a break, as well as patients and visitors a convenient place to enjoy fresh air and the outdoors. In addition to updating existing patient rooms, the hospital also renovated the central nursing station, pharmacy, and a series of office and administrative areas. The lower level of the addition, home to a large physical therapy room and record storage area, now fills with natural light from new window wells. Electrical systems for the hospital were also substantially upgraded, including a more powerful generator back-up system.
