To determine solutions that meet operational needs and financial expectations, the City of Fairmont hired ISG to provide a facility assessment and space needs analysis of its public works facility. Based on report findings, the City determined that constructing a new building on another city-owned site provided the greatest opportunity to consolidate services and offer more efficient and safe operations. To accommodate maintenance and storage needs for more than 100 vehicles, a pre-engineered metal building features indoor parking space for 32 vehicles, drive-through lanes, large overhead doors, a wash bay, overhead cranes, and maintenance bays. Other staff and ancillary spaces designed into the facility included locker rooms, a break room, offices, and storage.
