Land Survey Practice Group Leader
In addition to being a professional land surveyor, Dan is a licensed civil engineer that provides unique expertise and perspective to the industry. With over 20 years of experience, Dan leads ISG’s Land Survey Group, and manages a staff of accomplished surveyors, technicians, and project managers. Dan has been active in in the Professional Land Surveying Community in various ways; sharing his expertise, collaborating with other professionals, growing his professional network, and promoting the industry. As an active member of the Minnesota Society of Professional Surveyors (MSPS), Dan served as a Director, President Elect, President, and worked on a committee to update the Common Interest Community (CIC) Plat Manual, which is a statewide guidebook for surveyors. Dan continues his involvement with MSPS by serving on the Events Committee, which is involved with planning various continuing education events for the organization and has been a speaker at annual meetings.
Dan’s experience provides a solid understanding of the considerations that should be discovered during a land survey and how they may affect the eventual engineering and design of the site. He has also been instrumental in the adoption of 3D Laser Scanning technology within ISG. This valuable tool is widely used in a variety of applications, including facility management, as-built drawings, historic building surveys and analysis, and numerous other project applications. Dan’s specialized abilities help ISG’s clients achieve the best possible results in the development of their site.
