Opportunity

A combination of master planning, design, upgrades and renovation projects were completed at the college's campuses in North Mankato and Faribault. The $5 million project, performed over eight-years provided updated classrooms, labs, and technology spaces. All projects are planned and designed to meet Minnesota State Colleges and Universities guidelines and submittal requirements.

A pre-design document started the work for the North Mankato site, which included a major Learning Center and Student Services addition and renovation project. The project added nearly 12,000 feet of Learning Center space, including traditional library elements, tutoring rooms, collaborative design spaces, and computer workstations.

The design was refined through a series of meetings with various stakeholders to ensure that the new spaces align with the master plan for the campus, and that the highest value project is being proposed.

At the Faribault location, the project included renovating 63,000 square feet of existing campus space and constructing a 17,000 square foot learning resource center and library that includes a student commons area-which serves as a hub of activity- and space for small conferences. Much of the remodeling focused on a long-overdue, upgrading of current classrooms and labs and adding new ones. With the addition of more health and science labs, more curriculum options are available to its students.
