Overview

During the summer months, the reconstruction of Sample Street from Chubb to Grove Streets along the west side of Algona High School was completed on time and before school reconvened in the fall. Replaced, was a damaged, rough street that was subject to extreme frost heaves. The project included a new watermain, storm sewer and sanitary sewer. Also included was a bus parking lane along the east side of the street for parking school buses during student loading and unloading. All entrances to the high school were resurfaced and are now consistently smooth. The project greatly enhanced the appearance of the street and school.
