ISG designed a new athletic center for Bethany Lutheran College equipped with a field house and seasonal dome.


Opportunity

To fulfill its goals previously established in its master plan, Bethany Lutheran College set its sights on a new athletic facility.

Solution

ISG is completed the design of a new Student Athletic Center for Bethany Lutheran College, which includes multi-use plaza for socializing and events, as well as field house, full size synthetic turf soccer field with a seasonal dome and adjacent spectator seating, and enhanced parking and drop off facilities. A study was completed to determine whether natural or synthetic turf would best meet the needs of the school.

ISG previously completed the Master Plan for Bethany Lutheran College to accommodate future academic, religious, athletic and housing needs for the campus for the next 25 years. In a more detailed approach, ISG put together a 2-5 year athletic facilities plan as well as an overall long-term athletic master plan.

The plan included both projected and detailed cost estimates, layouts, acquisition and infrastructure requirements, as well as additional soft costs. Meetings and discussion were conducted on a proposed new field house and locker rooms to determine use, size, surfacing, and location. Layouts, plans, and renderings were then created for the proposed field house. Fundraising materials and information were provided in order to help move the project forward.

Toe Wildlife Management Area Receives 62-Acres of Wetland Restoration

December 22, 2020 (Mankato, Minnesota) – After nearly four years of planning, design, and construction, ISG is proud to report the successful completion of a 62-acre wetland restoration project within the Toe Wildlife Management Area (WMA). Situated in rural Jackson County, an area of southern Minnesota where less than 1% of original wetlands remain, the project is part of a larger initiative of the Heron Lake Watershed District to protect and restore nearly 350-acres of wetlands in the Toe WMA.

Mankato MoonDogs’ Franklin Rogers Park to be Renamed ISG Field

October 20, 2020 (Mankato, Minnesota) – Building on a series of successful partnerships and projects to bolster its ballpark, the Mankato MoonDogs, a member of the Northwoods League, has exercised its rights with the landlord, the City of Mankato, to lease the naming rights of Franklin Rogers Park to ISG. The ballpark will be named ISG Field after the professional design and engineering firm that was founded in Mankato in 1973. ISG Field represents the MoonDogs’ commitment to providing top quality local baseball and an enriching fan experience. This is the latest update for the team, which has unveiled a new logo and has implemented several renovations for the ballpark in recent years.
