Bethany Lutheran College Student Athletic Center

Mankato, MN | Sports + Recreation

Overview

ISG designed a new athletic center for Bethany Lutheran College equipped with a field house and seasonal dome.

Opportunity

To fulfill its goals previously established in its master plan, Bethany Lutheran College set its sights on a new athletic facility.

Solution

ISG is completed the design of a new Student Athletic Center for Bethany Lutheran College, which includes multi-use plaza for socializing and events, as well as field house, full size synthetic turf soccer field with a seasonal dome and adjacent spectator seating, and enhanced parking and drop off facilities. A study was completed to determine whether natural or synthetic turf would best meet the needs of the school.

ISG previously completed the Master Plan for Bethany Lutheran College to accommodate future academic, religious, athletic and housing needs for the campus for the next 25 years. In a more detailed approach, ISG put together a 2-5 year athletic facilities plan as well as an overall long-term athletic master plan.

The plan included both projected and detailed cost estimates, layouts, acquisition and infrastructure requirements, as well as additional soft costs. Meetings and discussion were conducted on a proposed new field house and locker rooms to determine use, size, surfacing, and location. Layouts, plans, and renderings were then created for the proposed field house. Fundraising materials and information were provided in order to help move the project forward.
