About
With expertise in education and healthcare, Paul Youngquist is a seasoned architect with 40+ years in the architecture and engineering industry. As senior architect at ISG, Paul concentrates in educational planning for the PreK-12 market. Taking a hands-on approach, he ensures that facility design aligns with enrollment, curriculum, existing facilities, and district goals. Paul provides specialized services in long-range facility analysis and planning, feasibility studies, community engagement, project budget development, and bond referendum planning. Together, these services help build consensus, momentum, and backing for projects.
Having worked on over 300 school projects, at every scale, across Minnesota and the Midwest, Paul has a diverse portfolio ranging from modern Pre-K to high school facilities, athletic complexes, performing arts auditoriums, and competition swimming pools. A major project of note is East Ridge High School in Woodbury, Minnesota, where Paul offered alternative solutions to maintain equity among students within the district by including small, facility additions across all school buildings. The result was equal access to educational assets over all learning spaces. A forward-looking architect, Paul has made it a practice of incorporating healthy building practices such as proper ventilation systems and cleanable materials for surfaces and finishes into his design.
Drawing on three decades of operating his own architecture firm in Minneapolis, Paul is known for his ability to listen and thoughtfully help clients identify their building needs. By offering architecture solutions that mirror those needs, Paul has established himself among clients and peers as a highly respected design partner.
