Employee Owned, Minnesota Based Firm Designs Additional Twin Cities Office Space to Accommodate Growth and Talent

June 13, 2019 (Minneapolis, Minnesota) - ISG, a nationally recognized architecture, engineering, environmental, and planning firm, recently added a second Twin Cities offices location in the West End of Minneapolis, its third within the State. With deep Minnesota roots that date back to the firm’s inception in Mankato over 46 years ago, ISG has grown to 300+ professionals with clients nationwide and offices in four states. The firm’s West End location will be its 10th office for the 100% ESOP, complementing Bloomington and Mankato in Minnesota.

Overlooking the Minneapolis skyline to the east, ISG’s in-house design team partnered with various Minnesota partners to connect with the surroundings through strategic site lines and in-office layout for the approximate 15,000 square foot space in the Park Place West Tower. Seasoned Landscape Architect and Associate Principal, Amanda Prosser, PLA, CPSI, will lead the office, collaborating with Twin Cities office leader, Andy Brandel, PE, Vice President, to uphold ISG’s growth and client focused objectives which have earned the firm national recognition by the Engineering News Record (ENR), Inc 5000, Zweig Group, and PSMJ, among other local organizations.

“Thank you to ISG for confidence in the State (Minnesota) and its workforce,” exclaims Doug Loon, Minnesota Chamber President. “Rest assured Minnesota’s business community, and particularly the Grow Minnesota! Partnership economic development program, will do everything it can to strengthen the State’s business climate, helping companies, such as ISG, grow,” states Doug.

ISG is no stranger to the Twin Cities, serving as a partner to leading Commercial, PreK-12, Higher Education, Sports and Recreation, Public Works, Government and Cultural, and Agriculture leaders. Most recently, ISG was recognized by the Star Tribune as a 2019 Top Workplace, earning a top 50 spot on a list that the firm has been included on since 2017.

Nationally, ISG is the 3rd fastest growing firm during the last three years according ENR and averaged nearly one professional new hire, per week, firm wide in 2018. Extensive mentorship, internship, and talent development efforts with local public and private education institutions, such as Apple Valley – District 196, Mankato Area Public Schools – ISD 77, University of Minnesota, and Minnesota State University, Mankato, have aided ISG’s efforts to attract and retain local talent needed to support industry demand.

“Since ISG opened its Bloomington office in 2015, we (ISG) have been continually focused on a true client-centric, market-focused approach within all aspects of business. This requires experts who understands client markets and impact that our professional services have on their future,” notes Chad Surprenant, PE, ISG CEO. “This office delivers a convenient location for ISG’s employee owners and clients alike with leading design elements that truly bring the firm’s strategy to life in an open and inspiring setting,” notes Chad.

A ribbon cutting and mixer for the firm’s West End location is slated for early Fall 2019.

Recent local ISG news includes addition of seasoned water quality expert and current University of Minnesota – Twin Cities professor, Walter Eshenaur, PE, appointment of Amanda Prosser, PLA, CPSI, to Secretary of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) Minnesota Chapter, receipt of George Warren Fuller Award for Uma Vempati, PE, PMP, ENV SP, from the American Water Works Association, and recognition of ISG designed Franklin Rogers Park in Mankato, Minnesota as Ballpark Digests Best 2018 Renovation.
